“Neurodiversity may be every bit as crucial for the human race as biodiversity is for life in general”. -Steve Silberman

Adult Assessments

We provide comprehensive, strengths-based psychological assessments for women looking to explore their neurodivergence. Our goal is to help women to better understand themselves so they are able to seek the support that is best suited to them.

  • Autism Assessments

Autism in women often presents differently from traditional stereotypes. Many autistic women are socially aware, empathetic, and motivated to connect — yet may feel deeply different, misunderstood, or exhausted by social expectations.

Women are often skilled at masking or camouflaging their autistic traits, consciously or unconsciously adapting their behaviour to fit in. Over time, this can lead to chronic anxiety, identity confusion, sensory overwhelm, or burnout. As a result, many women seek assessment in adulthood after years of feeling “out of sync” without knowing why.

An autism assessment for women explores lifelong patterns in communication, relationships, sensory processing, thinking style, interests, and energy levels. Particular care is taken to understand masking, internal experiences, and subtle presentations that may have been missed earlier.

Women commonly seek assessment when they:

    * Feel socially capable but internally exhausted. You may analyse social interactions, observe others, not understand or misinterpret social cues or feel ‘different’ from others.

    * Experience strong sensory sensitivities, such as layered or loud noise, bright lights, certain food textures or tactile textures.

    * Prefer deep, meaningful conversations over small talk

    * Have intense or focused interests

    * Have a history of anxiety, burnout, or feeling fundamentally different

Our assessments are neuro-affirming and strengths-focused. The aim is to provide clarity, validation, and language for your lived experience — supporting self-understanding, self-acceptance, and practical next steps.

  • ADHD Assessments

ADHD in women is frequently overlooked, misunderstood, or identified later in life. Many women have developed strong coping strategies — working hard to stay organised, meet expectations, and appear “on top of things,” even while internally feeling overwhelmed, scattered, or exhausted.

For some, ADHD has been masked by perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety, or high achievement. For others, life transitions such as university, parenthood, career demands, or burnout bring longstanding challenges into sharper focus.

An ADHD assessment for women explores how attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and energy patterns have shaped your life over time. We consider both current experiences and childhood history, recognising that ADHD often presents in less obvious or internalised ways in women.

Women often seek assessment when they:

    * Feel chronically overwhelmed despite being capable and intelligent

    * Struggle with organisation, time management, or task completion

    * Experience emotional intensity or rejection sensitivity

    * Notice cycles of productivity followed by burnout

    * Have long wondered why things seem harder than they “should” be

Our approach is respectful, collaborative, and strengths-based. The goal is not to pathologise, but to understand your neurotype and identify practical supports that reduce shame and increase sustainability.

  • AuDHD

Some women recognise traits of both ADHD and autism in themselves — experiencing a combination of deep focus and distractibility, strong interests and restless energy, social insight and social exhaustion. When both neurotypes are present, they can interact in complex and sometimes confusing ways. Studies estimate that approximately30-80% of individuals with autism also have ADHD, while about 20% to 50% of people with ADHD meet the criteria for autism.

AuDHD (autism and ADHD) women often describe feeling like they are “contradictory” — craving structure but struggling to maintain it, loving connection but needing significant recovery time, thriving in intense focus yet feeling overwhelmed by everyday demands. Many have spent years masking, overcompensating, or attributing their challenges to anxiety, personality, or burnout.

An AuDHD assessment explores how autistic and ADHD traits may overlap, interact, or balance each other across your lifespan. We take time to understand childhood experiences, masking patterns, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and identity development.

Women often seek AuDHD assessment when they:

    * Relate strongly to both autism and ADHD descriptions

    * Feel their experiences don’t fully fit one label alone

    * Have a history of anxiety, perfectionism, or chronic burnout

    * Notice cycles of hyperfocus and shutdown

    * Feel deeply different but cannot easily explain why

Our approach is collaborative, respectful, and strengths-based. The aim is not to reduce your experience to a checklist, but to build a coherent understanding of how your brain works — so you can move forward with clarity, self-compassion, and practical supports that honour your full neurotype.

Our Process

  • The first step is to gather a detailed developmental history from you. We may then request to gather more information from people who have known you as a child. Other professionals can be consulted with if appropriate.

  • We then choose the most appropriate assessment tools and questionnaires. We will discuss whether this will be done over one or several sessions.

  • We will consider assessing for of co-occurring diagnoses if requested.

  • Following the completion of the assessments, a comprehensive written report with practical, strengths-based recommendations will be provided in a PDF format.

  • We will then provide a feedback session to discuss the results and provide suggestions and recommendations specific to you.

Fees

The fees for the assessments will vary depending on type of assessment and complexity of the presenting issues.

All assessments include an interview, assessment sessions, questionnaires, neuroaffirming and comprehensive written report a PDF format and as feedback session. If required, other professionals such medical professionals or support workers can be consulted.
