My Approach

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, playful and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experiences. I work from a person-centred and neuroaffirming framework, creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and able to show up as they are.

I draw on Rogerian principles, with a focus on emotional safety, self-understanding, and values-based change. Rather than trying to ‘fix’ or change you or your child, therapy focuses on understanding what your needs, strengthening your capacity to respond to challenges, and finding ways forward that feel meaningful and sustainable.

At its core, therapy is a relational process. I value genuine connection, curiosity, and compassion, and believe growth happens when people feel supported, respected, and empowered in the context of their real lives.

Our Fees

At Wildflower Psychology, we like to be up front and transparent about our fees where possible.

The fee for a 50 minute therapeutic session is $250. This is consistent with other psychologists in the area. With the Medicare rebate, the gap fee will be $104.75.

The APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2025-2026 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee at $330. We aim to keep our fees below the recommended fee.

NDIS fee schedule is $232.99 per hour.

Fees are subject to be reviewed every June.

Our Process

  • First, register your interest by contacting us here. You can register for an appointment as a private client, self-managed NDIS participant or contact your GP to discuss a mental health treatment plan (please bring to first appointment).

We will then contact you to find out some more information about your referral and ensure we are the best fit for you.

Once you agree to book an appointment, we will discuss availability and wait times.

After you book in, you will be asked to complete some basic forms to further support your referral.

Once completed, you are ready to attend your first appointment!

Please note our practice does not provide assessments for court proceeding reports.

  • Getting Started

Our first meeting is with you, without your child present.

This initial session is an opportunity for us to talk openly about what has been happening and the concerns you have for your child. It allows me to gain a thorough understanding of your child’s strengths, experiences, and the challenges currently impacting your family.

During this appointment, I will ask questions to build a clearer picture of your child’s needs. I can also offer guidance on how to prepare your child for attending therapy in a way that feels reassuring and age-appropriate.

The information you share in this session helps shape the direction of support and informs how we move forward.

After this appointment, you will receive a Welcome Pack containing important information about Wildflower Psychology and what to expect from the therapeutic process. I encourage you to read through these documents carefully.

    Meeting Your Child

We will then arrange a face-to-face session with your child.

This first appointment focuses on helping your child feel at ease. Building trust is our priority, and we will spend time getting to know one another — talking about their interests, daily life, and important relationships.

When your child feels ready, we will begin gently exploring any concerns using evidence-informed approaches that are suited to their age and emotional development. I aim to make sessions fun, practical and relaxed.

You are welcome to stay for the session, or if you prefer, you may take some time for yourself at one of the nearby cafés while we meet.

  • Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a shared understanding of what has brought you to therapy.

We will spend time talking about what you’ve been experiencing, any current challenges, and what you hope might feel different as a result of our work together. I may ask about your personal history, including important life experiences, relationships, health, and any previous support you’ve received. This helps provide context and ensures that therapy is tailored to you.

Where appropriate, I may suggest completing brief screening questionnaires. These can help clarify patterns of anxiety, mood, stress, or other concerns, and give us a helpful baseline to guide our work.

By the end of the session, we will begin to develop a shared plan for moving forward — including identifying priorities, discussing the type of support that may be most helpful, and considering how often we might meet. This plan remains flexible and can evolve as therapy progresses.

  • Following you or your child’s initial session, we will begin meeting regularly to continue the work we have identified together. Therapy is a collaborative and reflective process, and sessions build gradually over time.

In ongoing appointments, we may explore patterns in greater depth, develop practical strategies, or process experiences that feel important to you. We will check in periodically about your goals and adjust our focus as needed to ensure you feel confident your needs are being met in therapy.
